- THE VIRIUN -
- BELIEFS - Viriun are religious creatures, believing themselves to all be created by Him. They quite firmly believe in their religion, and doubters are often mocked if they express their thoughts, or even cast out. The Viriun tend to be emotional creatures, and not much stock is put into the ability to hide your emotions. That doesn't mean that there aren't those who hide behind masks, but simply that the group as a whole is expressive.
Viriun are quite protective of their beliefs, and have more of a propensity to be violent than another group, for they are praised for harming a non-believer. It is thought that they are almost 'purging' the world of unworthiness. However, Viriun are not just murderous dicks, and characters involved cannot be the stereotypical psychopath/killer/whatever. They firmly believe in their religion, and not all have to resort to violence or anything.
- RANKS - The leader of the Viriun is most typically male, but occasionally female as well. They are called the Harbingers, and their second in command is considered a Delegate. The leader's mate does not have a specific rank, if the Harbinger has one, but is generally more respected than the average next rank. Majors are the older, experienced beings of the group, and generally make up the majority of the group. After that are Minors, who are still in training or not old enough, or perhaps not experienced enough to become a Major. Some remain as Minors for their lives, because they tend to be smaller, intelligent, or something that distinguishes them from the Majors, which do most of the labour in the group. Recruits are those that have either just joined the group, are children, or are elderly. The newly joined recruits are often tormented or 'hazed' to make sure they are truly loyal to the cause. No serious harm can be done to a Recruit without the Harbinger's permission, but they are generally expected to obey everyone else in the group.
- LIFESTYLE - The Viriun are a closely knit group, and tend to stick together. Ocasionally, one will go off alone only to find that someone has followed them, just to make sure they were alright. They tend to take care of their own, but within the group there are different factions, with malignant intent brewing underneath the surface tension. However, as a whole, they get past their differences because to them, the real issue is the non-believers, not the different sects of belief in their own group.
Often superstitious, a sign will be interpreted by the Harbinger, and can spell bad news for a member of the group. They are loyal creatures, but their loyalty is divided between their leader, their God, and themself, and if one of those things comes into question, it can be difficult for them to decide what to choose.
