- THE NIHIL -
- BELIEFS - The Nihil are nihilists, atheists, and do not believe in God at all. They are not superstitious, and believe in logic above all else. However, they tend to be miscreants and riff-raff, and take in all the renegades that do not know or care for the religion. Years and years ago, beyond the age of any creatures currently alive, the Nihil were driven from the metal forest by the Viriun for being unbelievers, and refusing to take part in a ritual. They were less in number then, but managed to escape into the desolate area beyond the city. However, now their strength matches the other schisms, and they are not as helpless as before.
The Nihil are rather guarded, and prefer fighting dirty and taking advantages where they can get it. Often slipping into the shadows to spy, or using their strength in superior numbers, to defeat opponents. Trust is hard to come by from a Nihil, but once it is given, it is usually for life. They respect debts, and revere intelligence. However, brawn and strength is not amiss in the Nihil, for they tend to treat everyone equally. Nihil are political creatures, and tend to think within their own group of ways to advance themselves further in ranks, or to cause someone to be in debt to them.
- RANKS - The Dominant is the leader of the Nihil, and his Subordinate is his second in command. Their orders are rarely questioned, but the lower ranks are rarely punished for speaking out of turn or suggesting new ideas. Combatants are those that are somewhat superior to the rest in strength, intelligence, speed, or whatever, and are experienced, making up the majority of the group. Raws are the members of the group like a renegade making its way up, or an adolescent, and have yet to become a Combatant. Some remain at this rank if they are not able to benefit the group in any meaningful way. The children or elders are considered Preters, and a child is born into this rank, or a Combatant is moved down to this rank when he or she ceases to be useful.
- LIFESTYLE - The Nihil live their lives looking behind their backs. They are not superstitious, as previously stated, but tend to suspect others around them of playing political games. They enjoy watching and waiting, tending to stick to the shadows and go off by themselves if they feel it safe. However, Nihil value common sense, and if they think they will get into any danger, will ask others to accompany them. Nihil can be friendly without an ulterior motive, but are still careful and methodical with their relations.
