In An Antithetical Reality, 7 species are playable.
Avians, Feline, Canine, Deer, Bear, Gryphons, and Wyverns.
We are a fantasy site, however, and allow things like wings, odd colors, and more to be bought from the shop, but some things are unchangeable. We want to create something of a median between species so everything is realistic, and somewhat fair.
For example, the wyverns are only slightly larger than the gryphons. If we allowed them to be much larger, our role play would not be fun or wouldn't work out. Also, creatures like deer and avians have ways of defending themselves - deer are large and have their antlers and very sharp/strong hooves, and birds have talons and wings. So no worries about equality in role play.
As a note, you DO NOT HAVE to play as a specific species. You could have a cat with lynx-like features, but larger like a lion, and a mohawk, for example. Any species listed are for sheer example.
- AVIANS -
Avians can range in size from about 10 inches tall to about 40, with a wingspan of about 15-70 inches. These are the outliers of the group set, and most are in between.
Females are larger than males of any same bird species, and all species are playable if you would like, or perhaps create your own. Hybrid bird species are allowed, so long as it's not something absurd like a great grey x elf owl.
-FELINES -
All wild feline species are playable - things like lynx and serval, but you may not play as anything smaller than about 25 inches at the shoulder. Nothing beyond 4.5 feet at the shoulder is allowed, and weight must be less than 750lbs.
- CANINES -
Wolves, their cousins, and domesticated dog breeds are all playable if you so desire. However, the breed must be larger than 20 inches at the shoulder, and weigh more than 45lbs. Cannot exceed 45 inches, or 180lbs.
- DEER -
Anything like a reindeer, ibex, musk ox, antelope, or anything in that general family is allowed in AAR.
May not weigh more than 1300lbs, or be taller than 70 inches at the shoulder.
- BEARS -
Bears are all playable, but females are smaller than males by quite a large margin.
May not weigh more than 1400 lbs, or be more than 60 inches at the shoulder.
- GRYPHONS -
Males are larger than females, and may combine any bird/beak/animal combination you'd like, or simply be designed however. They do not need to be half bird and half creature, but maybe have creature body, bird head, wings, and talons on all feet or something.
May not exceed 5.5 feet at the shoulder, or weigh more than 600lbs. ( bones are hollow to achieve flight. ) Wingspan must be realistic in order to get them into the air.
- WYVERNS -
Males and females are about the same size, and wyverns can be born with or without wings, horns, scales, and skin. Your wyvern may have 4 legs and no wings, 2 legs and wings that act as arms, or 4 legs and a pair of wings.
May not exceed 6 feet at the shoulder, or weigh more than 700bs. ( once again, hollow bones. )
